Imagine looking at your dog and knowing their urinary health and weight are being supported from the inside out. Unleash a world of nutrition tailored for dogs with urinary problems and a tendency to gain weight with the veterinarian-recommended Royal Canin Veterinary Urinary S/O Moderate Calorie Dog.

Royal Canin Veterinary Urinary S/O Moderate Calorie Dog is dry food for adult dogs to dissolve and minimize the recurrence of struvite stones. Urinary problems in dogs manifest in the appearance of urinary crystals and stones due to dietary mineral excess or a pH imbalance. These stones can be struvite stones, which are made of magnesium, ammonium, and phosphates and formed in neutral to alkaline urine. They can also present themselves as calcium oxalate stones that can appear regardless of the urine pH.

This diet efficiently helps dissolve all types of struvite stones and reduces their recurrence. Thanks to its ability to dilute your dog’s urine, this food makes the urine less susceptible to forming struvite and calcium oxalate stones. Additionally, due to low urinary Relative Supersaturation (RSS) that translates into lower ion concentration, Royal Canin Urinary S/O Moderate Calorie helps reduce stone formation. What’s more, it contains low levels of magnesium, a natural component of struvite stones.

Lastly, as its name advertises, Royal Canin Veterinary Urinary S/O Moderate Calorie features moderate calorie content to maintain optimal weight.

Royal Canin Veterinary Urinary S/O Moderate Calorie Dog key benefits:

  • Royal Canin Veterinary Urinary S/O Moderate Calorie Dog dissolves struvite stones and reduces the recurrence of both struvite and calcium oxalate stones.
  • Through urine dilution, this food makes your dog’s urine less liable to forming struvite and calcium oxalate crystals.
  • The low RSS contributes to lower ion concentration and reduces stone formation.
  • This recipe also contains moderate calorie content to maintain an ideal weight.

FAQ

How can I feed Royal Canin food to my pet?

First, when introducing new food to your pet’s diet, make a gradual transition. We recommend you do a transition phase of seven days to avoid dietary issues. Mix a portion of the new food with your pet's current food, gradually increasing the ratio every three days until your pet is fully adapted.

Feed Royal Canin Urinary S/O Moderate Calorie for five to 12 weeks to dissolve struvite stones and up to six months to reduce struvite stone recurrence. Your veterinarian should reevaluate your dog to assess the relevance of a lifelong diet recommendation and should check renal function before recommending a new diet.

Make sure your pet always has fresh water available. For better results, you can combine the dry food with the Royal Canin Urinary S/O Moderate Calorie wet dog food, which you can feed separately or in the same bowl.

Nevertheless, before use and for further guidance, speak to your vet and follow their advice.
