Keeping dogs satisfied and away from their food bowl is no easy task - even if they’re small. As such, you need all the help you can get to maintain your canine’s weight within the optimal range. Your small dog achieving an ideal body weight is possible with the veterinarian-recommended Royal Canin Veterinary Satiety Weight Management Small Dog.

Royal Canin Veterinary Satiety Weight Management Small Dog is dry food for small-breed adult dogs in need of losing weight and controlling begging behavior. Weight gain is normally associated with overeating and under-exercising. If your dog is overweight, they have a higher risk of developing serious health conditions. As such, tailored nutrition that helps your dog feels satisfied between meals and playing and exercising are excellent ways to maintain a healthy weight.

This food includes an adapted macronutrient profile to provide safe weight loss and help avoid weight regain. Actually, 97% of dogs lost weight in three months, per the results of an international weight loss study conducted in 2017*.

Royal Canin Satiety Weight Management contains high natural fiber levels that keep small dogs satisfied between meals. This food helped control begging in 83% of dogs during weight loss**.

Additionally, this formula is adapted to meet the specific needs of small dogs’ digestive, dental, and urinary sensitivities.

FAQ

How can I feed Royal Canin food to my pet?

First, when introducing new food to your pet’s diet, make a gradual transition. We recommend you do a transition phase of seven days to avoid dietary issues. Mix a portion of the new food with your pet's current food, gradually increasing the ratio every three days until your pet is fully adapted.

Make sure your pet always has fresh water available.

Nevertheless, before use and for further guidance, speak to your vet and follow their advice.

How much Royal Canin should I give to my pet?

The ideal weight should be determined according to the weight and body condition score (BCS) of your dog. As such, the recommended daily intake of this food is based on your pet’s ideal weight. The starting portion size may need to be adjusted during follow-up visits to your veterinarian. You can achieve an objective of losing 1-3% body weight per week over the first three months and of 0.5-2% afterward.

It’s recommended to continue feeding this weight-loss diet once achieved the ideal or target weight. For ideal weight maintenance, gradually increase the daily food intake until the weight has stabilized. Maintenance portions may need to be adjusted based on the individual. If your dog regains more than 5% of body weight, the portion size should be decreased to weight loss levels.

Adjust the portion size according to your dog’s ideal weight and phase of the diet.
