FAQ

How do I use AdTab?

Due to its high palatability and meat flavor, AdTab is well-accepted by dogs with food or after eating. Remove the chewable tablet and offer it to your dog as a treat. Alternatively, you can also break the tablet into pieces and sprinkle them into a small amount of dog food.

Ensure your dog consumes the complete chewable tablet.

What is the frequency of treatment for fleas and ticks?

Repeat this treatment monthly during flea or tick seasons.

What is the frequency of treatment for Demodex mites?

For the treatment of demodicosis, the monthly administration of AdTab for two consecutive months is effective and leads to a marked improvement in clinical signs. Continue this treatment until obtaining two negative skin shaves one month apart.

Severe cases may require extended monthly treatments. As demodicosis is a multifactorial disease, it is advisable, whenever possible, to properly treat any underlying disease as well.

How does AdTab Antiparasitic Chewable Tablets for Dogs work?

AdTab includes an active substance called lotilaner. Lotilaner is active against fleas (Ctenocephalides felis and Ctenocephalides canis), ticks (Dermacentor reticulatus, Ixodes hexagonus, Ixodes ricinus, Rhipicephalus sanguineus), and Demodex canis mites.

Lotilaner is a potent inhibitor of gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA)-activated chlorine channels, resulting in rapid elimination of ticks and fleas. These parasites must be attached to your dog’s skin and start feeding on their blood to be exposed to lotilaner.

AdTab kills existing and newly hatched fleas on dogs before they can lay eggs. Therefore, it interrupts the flea life cycle and prevents the environmental contamination in areas the dog has access to.

What do AdTab chewable tablets look like?

These are round chewable tablets with color white to beige and tinted brown.

Can I use AdTab if my dog is under eight weeks old and/or weighs less than 1.3 kg?

All safety and efficacy data for AdTab were obtained in puppies and dogs with eight weeks of age or older and weighing 1.3 kg or more. Consult your veterinarian before treating puppies under eight weeks of age and/or dogs weighing less than 1.3 kg.

Can I give AdTab to my pregnant/lactating dog?

The safety of AdTab has not been established during pregnancy and lactation or in dogs intended for breeding. Administer only to pregnant/lactating dogs in accordance with the benefit/risk assessment carried out by the responsible veterinarian.

Can I administer AdTab for dogs to my cat or other pets?

Does AdTab for dogs have any contraindications?

Do not administer AdTab for dogs in case of hypersensitivity to the active substance or to any of the excipients (for the product’s composition, check the Ingredients tab).
